Grandfather of Cometan

8th October 1936 – 5th September 2025

A personal message from Cometan

The world has lost the kindest, wisest and most positive man and I am heartbroken. My mentor; my best friend; my confidant; my grandad.

Grandad, you fought with so much strength, bravery and resilience over the last six years of having cancer and I couldn’t be more proud to be your grandson. You were my rock. Not having you here is going to be unbelievably hard.

I look back on the times we spent hiking, researching our family history and travelling together and I smile at all the beautiful memories we made.

You were always so positive Grandad and even in the darkest of times, you were our family’s shining light. I suppose the best thing I can do now is move forward with the lessons you taught me and if I can become just half the man you were, then I will be happy that I have done you proud.

Rest In Peace Grandad, My Hero 🪽😢💙
